Are you still trying to figure out how you can live your life to the fullest? Eventually, you’re not alone. Most people have never yet discovered what life has to offer to them. So, here are seven pieces of advice you can incorporate to own the life you most want to have.
1. Time is the most precious resource.
It is not renewable so once the time has passed, you can never return it. You have to use it wisely and efficiently because it’s limited. Never waste your time on things or people that will keep you from growing and learning.
2. Hard work matters more than talent.
Everything is learnable and changeable if you are willing to put it in the work. You can become a happier person on average, you can become stronger and smarter over time. Be willing enough to work on things that will lead you to better results and a greater person.
3. Learn, earn and return.
Learn from the things around you, earn enough to return something to others. Giving back don’t just about money. It’s about sharing your experiences in your journey. The lessons you learned. Your passion. Your blessings. It’s about inspiring and motivating people who undergo a situation that you were once experienced. It’s about sacrificing some of your time to share your blessings with others. Share the light that guided you. Turn the spark into a wildfire of positivity and motivation.
4. Pick your battles.
Stop engaging every argument in your head. Not every encounter is worth fighting for. Some of them will just waste your time, energy and distract you from your goals. When you are in a battle, do not focus on winning. Instead, focus on every detail and lessons it will bring. Those details will let you learn and grow. Do not choose to win if you’ll lose something more important along the way. Remember that you can still lose even if you were “right” all along. Be wise in every battle.
Everyone is frantically looking for it, not knowing where it’s really located. Materialism isn’t a healthy route to happiness. If you keep associating your happiness with things and worldly materials, you will never be satisfied and always look for something more. Happiness will never be within your reach. Remember, happiness starts with us and ends with us. It comes from our own actions. The source of real happiness is just lying within us. If we want to live a happy life, we need to work on our happiness every single day.
6. Have the courage to strive for greatness.
Never settle for mediocrity, always reach for the stars. Never stop from moving forward, regardless of what obstacles you are facing today. You may not achieve all of your goals, but don’t let it be for a lack of trying. Focus on living your life the right way. Make and give the best that you possibly can. Take risks and have no regrets. Leave behind a legacy. Make your journey meaningful. At the end of this life, you will present the book you have written. Make it worth reading.
7. Remember, emotion influences your decision making.
Never make decisions when you are angry and a commitment when you are happy. Whether in your school, professional career or relationship, always practice mindfulness in all everything you all do. It will keep you from making unnecessary decisions that later on might hurt you or the people around you.
